Thema: Treiber Aktualisieren iwl4965 - openSUSE 11.0 x86_64

hallo Leute,

versuche schon zum zichten Mal das Tema zu Erzeugen, doch mein System friert immer wieder ein.

Biite um Hilfe.

Ich habe treiber und firmware aus dem Forum geladen und installiert:

compat-wireless-kmp-default-20081005_2.6.25.16_0.rm.0.x86_64

iwlwifi-ucode-1.rm.0.noarch

so, nun funktioniert mein wlan garnicht mehr.

Der Grund der Installation ist folgender:

Ich brauche WLAN in der Schule IEEE802.1X.
Zu hause hat es funktioniert. Jetzt zeigt er mir nur andere Nachbarrouter aber mein router erscheint nicht im Networkmanager.

Für das WLAN in der Schule habe ich ein StartScript und wpa_supplicant einstellungen bekommen und man hat mir gesagt ich bräuchte da noch einen
Treiber mit der Versionsnummer (also nur Endung) .26.xy

mein modinfo iwl4965 zeigt .23ks .

Mit Windows aller Art und wpa_supplicant funktioniert es hervoragend. Aber ich will weg von Windows, nur leider habe ich auch die Gröste Bremse INTERNET not CONNECT.

weil Halbwissen gedacht hat, etwas anderes neueres also besser und hoffte das sein WLAN in der Schule funzt.

Dann lass das Update eben und fertig.

Hättest Du vor dem Testen auch mal die bisherigen Testberichte gelesen, dann wüsstest Du auch, warum es wahrscheinlich nicht funktioniert.

Ich hoffe ich hab's richtig gemacht.

jetzt glaube ich nicht mehr das es an den Treibern liegt das mein system einfriert, jedenfall nicht nur an den Treibern.

Das was ich oben gepostet hab, war eine neuinnstallation, ein von Yast unbedingt gefordertes patchUpdate, anschließender Neutstart und Kernel update.

So, nun friert mir die Kiste trotzdem 5 MIn nach dem Neustart ein. Es zeigt sich so das teils etwas nicht funktioniert und dann bleibt mir nur der Ausschaltknopf.

Die hoch gepriesenen tty Teletypes konnten auch nicht helfen.


Also wirklich ich glaub ich hab ein DejaVu wie zu Zeiten von Windows 98 . Leider.

Mehr als nur richtig sogar, es funktioniert doch alles.

OK, mit einer Ausnahme (auch wenn das hier nicht schlimm ist, weil die Verbindung steht).

So ein kleines bisschen Nachdenken, bevor man blind irgendetwas eintippt, wäre eine gute Idee.

Also kannst du das Treiberupdate gleich mal vergessen, wenn die Internetverbindung über das andere Netzwerk nicht funktioniert, dann liegt es wohl kaum am Treiber sondern an der Einrichtung.

Nein, das hat mit Deiner WLAN-Einrichtung sehr wahrscheinlich nichts zu tun.

Mal einen Speichertest von der Installations-CD/DVD laufen lassen, am besten mehrere Stunden, Linux reagiert auf kaputten RAM deutlich empfindlicher als Windows (weil es den RAM effektiver nutzt).

Das wäre zumindest der erste Verdächtige.

Und bezüglich des WLAN-Problems:

Du hast Dich zwar nicht zur Einrichtungsmethode geäussert, aber da sowohl smpppd als auch kinternet nicht installiert sind/laufen, ist es wohl der NetworkManager, der verwendet wird.

Sollte dieser die im anderen Netzwerk verwendete Authentifizierungsmethode/Verschlüsselung wirklich nicht unterstützen (ich nutze den NWM nicht mehr, weil mir dieses Geklicke auf den Nerv geht und ich vor allem schon vor dem Einloggen in die GUI meine Netzwerk ohne irgendwelche Einstellungen "UP" haben will), dann wäre diese Tutorial wohl ein Ansatzpunkt für Dich:

Ausserdem kann/sollte man sich den "SCPM" Profilmanager ansehen (mal in YaST stöbern, Einrichtung ist nahezu selbsterklärend).

Aber bevor das Problem mit dem "Einfrieren" nicht lokalisiert ist, ist das alles unwichtig.
