Thema: openSuse 10.2 - externen Monitor ansteuern

Hallo zusammen,

im Zuge meines Vorhabens von Windows auf Linux umzusteigen, habe ich Suse 10.2 64Bit auf meinem Toshiba-Notebook Satellite Pro P100-439 mit WSXGA+-Display und Nvidia GeForce GO 7900 GS -Grafikchip installiert.
Außerdem habe ich einen Monitor (Eizo FlexScan S2110W, Auflösung 1680x1050) digital angeschlossen.

Unter Windows (XP bzw. Vista) wird sofort der externe Monitor angesteuert.

Unter Linux habe ich es noch nicht geschafft den externen Monitor „anzusprechen“.
Bei -Einrichten – Kdesktop wird nur ein Bildschirm angezeigt, und nur das Notebook zeigt das Display. Unter yast kann ich nicht finden wo ich einen Monitor verändern bzw. hinzufügen kann.

Für jede Hilfe, mein Problem zu lösen, bin ich dankbar.

Also ich glaube mich zu erinnern, dass ich das mal mit dem NVIDIA konfigurations Tool gemacht habe. Bei mir ging es aber auch über YAST2 -> Hardware -> Monitor -> Dual Head Modus aktivieren. Ich hatte damals versucht meinen Fernseher über S-Video anzusprechen. Allerdings hatte ich danach immer Probleme meine Kiste zu booten. Kam immer eine Fehlermeldung (nur schon mal als Vorwarnung). Hoffe bei dir klappt es besser...

Vor allem wären Infos zum installierten Grafikkartentreiber (nativer "nv" oder proprietärer nvidia-Treiber oder was anderes?) und zur Konfiguration (xorg.conf) nicht schlecht.

ich hab' mich wohl zu weit vorgewagt: um die xorg.conf zu finden und in die Zwischenablage zu friemeln verursacht schon so einiges...

hier also die xorg.conf aus /etc/x11. Es gibt noch eine in /var/lib/sax...

Mit dem "nv"-Treiber wirst Du wahrscheinlich in diesem Fall keinen Blumentopf gewinnen können.

Du solltest den proprietären NVidia-Treiber installieren.
