Hallo IOtz !
danke für die beiden Links. Da der sound mit der vorhandenen Software schon funktioniert hat, werde ich erst einmal nicht updaten. Denn dabei entstehen meistens neue Probleme.
Die Soundkarte benötigt meines Erachtens die Angabe von Optionen wie z.b. den Codec
ALC662 wie unter Windows.

Ich habe ein wenig geforscht, aber zu der Meldung

amixer: Mixer default load error: Invalid argument

nichts sonderlich tolles gefunden.

Also schlage ich vor, wir nehmen erstmal den Standardweg:

danke für die Hilfe. Der Sound funktioniert !

Kmix hatte nach erneutem Aufruf vielmehr Schalter als bisher. Möglicherweise liegt das an einem Update von KDE auf Version 4.
Nachdem ich den Schalter für Master hochgeregelt hatte, brachte ein erneuter Aufruf von alsaconf die Lösung.
