(Erledigt) Anzeigeeinstellung Suse 10.1 nicht zu ändern
Hallo,
bin Neueinsteiger in Linux (2 Tage) habe WLAN einrichten können (mit Eurer Hilfe).
ABER:
ich kann die Bildschirmeinstellung 1280*1024 nicht ändern.
Habe einen 17" CRT
Die Einstellungsmöglichkeiten sind doch eigentlich super in Suse 10.1 (GNOME)
Gibts da etwas besonderes zu beachten damit eine Änderung auch funktioniert?

Bitte folgende Infos posten.
1. Grafikhardware und welcher Treiber verwendet wird ("mitgelieferter" oder ATI/NVidia-Treiber).
Falls das Modell der Grafikkarte nicht bekannt ist, dann die Ausgabe von
(kleines "L", nicht grosses "i")Code:lspci
posten (kann eigentlich sowieso nicht schaden).
2. Inhalt der xorg.conf posten.

Deine xorg.conf sagt deutlich aus, was das "Problem" ist, wobei alles in Ordnung ist, also erstmal keine Sorge.
Hier ist die entscheidende Passage:
Die Karte wird zwar erkannt, jedoch läuft sie "nur" mit dem "Framebuffer" Treiber ('fbdev') für Standardgrafikkarten (VGA).Code:Section "Device" BoardName "GeForce 6100 ASRock" BusID "0:5:0" Driver "fbdev" Identifier "Device[0]" Screen 0 VendorName "NVidia" EndSection
Der kann wohl kaum mehr als 1024x768 und wenn Du mehr Leistung herausholen willst, dann wirst Du auf die Treiber von NVidia zurückgreifen müssen.
Hierzu würde ich mir zunächst das hier durchlesen:

Es gibt 2 Optionen:
1. Einbinden des Installerscripts für NVidia-Treiber in Yast.
2. Handarbeit.
Was Du tust, ist Deine Sache, die Vorarbeiten sind aber für beide Möglichkeiten die selben.
- Pakete 'kernel-source', 'gcc' und 'make' installieren (von CD/DVD)
- xorg.conf sichern, damit man im Notfall was Lauffähiges hat (wenn auch nur mit fbdev, aber besser als nichts, oder?)
- Eventuell vorher Kernelupdate machen und darauf achten, daß Kernel und Kernelquellen auf dem selben Stand sind:
