Thema: (Gelöst) Bildschirmauflösung nicht zu ändern (ATI X1600 SuSE 10.1, 64 Bit)

Hallo Leute,

ich bin absoluter Suse-neuling. Ich habe heute zum ersten mal suse in der version 10.1 installiert. Leider musste ich feststellen, dass ich die Auflösung nicht ändern kann (mittels sax2). Die beträgt die ganze Zeit 1024 x 768 (XGA) egal was ich versuche. Mein Monitor ist ein BENQ FP91G+ und sollte mit einer empfohlenen Auflösung von 1280 x 1024 betrieben werden.

Ich bin zwar kein Grafikexperte, aber bevor Du mit irgendwelchen Versuchen beginnst die Auflösung zu ändern solltest Du erstmal eine Sicherung Deiner aktuellen und lauffähigen xorg.conf anlegen, damit Du diese Version im Notfall immer wieder einfach zurückkopieren kannst.

Was mir auffällt und auch komisch erscheint ist das hier:

OK, zum Problem, das sich anhand der erwähnten Einhaltung der Regeln und darüber hinaus (sic!) zumindest leicht lokalisieren läßt.

Zwar sagt lspci ATI RV530, in der xorg.conf wird sie aber mit dem einfachsten Treiber als Framebuffer Grafikkarte betrieben:

Das RV530 kommt mir übrigens verdächtig vorkommt, das hatten wir doch schon mal, war ein ziemliches Theater:

Also mache Dir bitte nicht zu viel Hoffnungen, aber zumindest kann ich Dir versprechen, daß wir

a) alles versuchen werden

und

b) wenn Du Dich an die Vorschläge hältst, Deinem System auch nichts passieren kann, weil wir immer noch zu jedem Zeitpunkt die "Reißleine ziehen können". Deinem Monitor droht übrigens keine Gefahr, eher umgekehrt könnte es Ärger geben, wenn man ihn in zu hoher Auflösung versucht, zu betreiben.

Zunächst brauchen wir aber noch ein paar weitere Infos:

1. Hast Du ein 32- oder ein 64-Bit System?

2. Hast Du Zugang zum Internet und kannst ein Online-Update fahren?

Möglicherweise kann man für diese Karte den ATI-ClosedSource Treiber verwenden und außerdem meine ich mich zu erinnern, daß es mittlerweile auch einige Updates für xorg-X11 gab, das sind die Pakete für Dein graphisches System.

Bevor wir loslegen, solltest du Dich mit dem Midnight Commander vertraut machen, Du wirst ihn brauchen.

Ein klassischer 2-Fenster Dateimanager, man bewegt/kopiert Dateien immer von einem Fenster ins andere, früher gab es unter DOS den "Norton Commander", der funktionierte so ähnlich.

Schau Dir ausserdem, sofern Du unter Linux Zugang zum Internet hast, den Textbrowser "lynx" an, er sollte installiert sein, wenn nicht, dann hole das von DVD nach. Du kannst auch nach dem Textbrowser "links2" suchen, der soll sogar einen "graphischen" Browsermodus erlauben, auch wenn kein X-Server läuft.

Egal, was wir nun machen werden, es empfiehlt sich UNBEDINGT eine Kopie des gesamten Ordners /etc/X11 (darin befindet sich als "zentrale" Datei auch die von Jacko schon genannte xorg.conf) anzulegen. Dazu brauchst Du Root-Rechte, oder zumindest dann, wenn wir ein Backup einspielen müssen. Du solltest also auch mit den Befehlen su und sudo vertraut sein. Beantworte die Fragen oben und lege schonmal die Sicherungskopie an,dann sehen wir weiter.

Da gibt es mehrere Linux Treiber. Meine Grafikkarte ist eine Readon x1600pro PCIE.
Ich betreibe ein 64bit System auf einem AMD64.

Der Umgang mit Linux in der shell ist eher kein Problem, da die grundlegenden Kenntnisse der navigation, vim, sowie su, sudo, lynx, wget etc vorhanden sind.
Leider kenne ich mich mit den Treibern und der Systemkonfiguration "noch" nicht aus
Ich hoffe das sich das (vieleicht mit Eurer Hilfe ???) bald ändert, da ich aus Interesse komplett auf Linux umsteigen will

Zu beachten ist, dass die installation des Ati-treibers das installierte Packet "kernel-source" erfordert, was in der Standartinstallation von Suse 10.1 bei mir nicht der Fall war. Dies lässt sich mit Yast sehr einfach nachholen.

nicht vergessen! Das geht auch in der Konsole, wenn man keine graphische Oberfläche mehr haben sollte. Ein erneutes Konfigurieren der Karte mittels aticonfig ist NICHT nötig!
