Thema: xgl Deaktivieren

Um auf meinem SuSE 10.2 Beryl zu installieren, habe ich folgende Anleitung benutzt:

Da tritt allerdings ein Fehler auf:

Die Kristallgoogle berichtete mir allerdings, dass das ganze OHNE Xgl viel besser sei (Link

vergessen, Anleitung s.o.). Dafür müsste allerdings logischerweise erstmal xgl raus, mit

gnome-xgl-switch --disable-xgl

Das wiederum ergibt folgende Fehlermeldung:

Hallo

xgl ist jetzt deaktiviert, ich habe einach das Paket bei YaST deinstalliert.

Anschließend habe ich das HowTo von de.opesuse.org

(Link) befolgt, also

nvidia-xconfig --add-argb-glx-visuals

Dann Beryl und Emerlad mit

gestartet. Leidglich der Befehl

produzierte einen Absturz. Nach Rain_Makers Anweisungen, das englische

HowTo (Link) zu benutzten (im IRC), habe ich

Danach PC neu gestartet und Beryl gestartet:

Ergebnis: Weißer Bildschirm und Systemabsturz, ebenso der Befehl

Ich werde jetzt erstmal meine xorg.conf wiederherstellen, dann kann ich Beryl immerhin

schonmal benutzten..

Weiß jemand, wie ich den Beryl-Manager OHNE xgl zum laufen bekomme??
