Thema: (Gelöst) ATI Radeon 9500 Pro mit 8.34.8-1 Treiber

Hallo! Gestern habe ich nach einem GAU openSUSE nochmal aufgezogen, und dann der neuste Installer von ATI nach dem Tutorial: "SDB:ATI TREIBER unter SUSE installieren-openSUSE" installiert. Es hat alles funktioniert, NUR: SaX2 zeigt als Modell die R300 NE anstatt Radeon 9500Pro und nach dem Teststart bleibt alles dunkel. Nochmal booten - alles da, sogar die 3D unterstützung! Bei der ersten Installation (vorige Woche) war die GraKa richtig erkannt nur ohne 3D Meine Frage: so lassen oder weiter versuchen das richtig zu machen? Habe: openSUSE 10.2 (i586); mit 2.6.18.8-0.1-default Kernel; die gfxcard-hwinfo sagt folgendes:

Vergiss für diese Karte den fglrx-Treiber von ATI.

Die Karte läuft auch mit dem freien Treiber "radeon", der bei xorg dabei ist mit 3D Beschleunigung.

3D muß man möglicherweise von Hand aktivieren, siehe unter anderem hier:

Hi, die CODE-Tags für Anfänger und Fortgeschrittene (und WARUM sie allen Nutzen bringen) habe ich bis heute übersehen -sorry. Werde durchlesen und lernen (obwohl das in meinem Alter etwas länger dauern könnte). Nun - soll ich den Treiber deinstallieren und den "radeon" von "xorg" versuchen? (Wie mache ich das wieder richtig?) Gruß Z.

Wie das geht, steht in den beiden Links beschrieben.

Um auf den "radeon" umzustellen, bootest Du die Kiste in Runlevel 3 (eine 3 am Bootscreen eintippen und dann <Enter>), logst Dich als root in der Konsole ein und gibst folgenden Befehl ein.

Code:

sax2 -r -m 0=radeon

Danach die Karte mit Sax2 einrichten und wenn nötig die 3D-Beschleunigung wie beschrieben durch Editieren der Datei /etc/X11/xorg.conf mit einem Texteditor als root (Backup nicht vergessen!) aktivieren.

Fertig ist die Laube.
