Hallo zusammen,

ich bin nicht nur in diesem Forum neu sondern auch ein Linux Neuling.
Ich habe Suse 11.1 installiert und möchte gerne das Wlan von meinem Acer Travelmate2410 aktivieren.

Rain_Maker: Ich weiß es gibt unzählige Threads zu diesem Thema, aber bei den meisten Anleitungen schnalle ich das irgendwie nicht bzw. klappte es nicht so wie angegeben warum auch immer.

Ich habe nach der Installation nur die Firmware und den Treiber für die Broadcom-Karte installiert. Dann habe ich es wie oben beschieben ausprobiert:

modprobe acer-wmi wireless=1 eingegeben, aber keine Reaktion, keine Lampe leuchtet

Dann wollte ich acerhk-kmp-default installieren, dabei kam eine Fehlermeldung

Bitte nur für absolute Anfänger:

Wie bekomme ich die besch .... Karte am Rennen.

Ich dachte unter Suse 11.1 sind soweit alle Treiber für die wichtigste Hardware incl.

P.S.: Die Karte unter Yast wird als Broadcom Karte aufgeführt.

Super, es fehlt immer noch mehr als 90%.

Was ist eigentlich daran so schwer, den Beitrag "Was poste ich bei WLAN-Problemen" zu lesen und einen Befehl nach dem Anderen abzuarbeiten?

Ich lösche jetzt die Dublette und trenne das hier als eigenes Thema ab.

Da Du ja offensichtlich über Kabel online bist.

Also wenn ich das richtig verstanden habe musste ich nachdem ich den bcm Treiber und Firmware installiert hatte musste ich im Terminal nur nochmal installieren und über modeprobe aus und wieder einschalten oder??

- Nein, Du musstet überhaupt erst mal die richtige Firmware installieren.

Steht übrigens auch alles hier drin:

Die Installation mit dem install_bcm43xx-firmware Script ist nur dann gangbar, wenn man eine Internetverbindung über Kabel hat, deshalb gibt es auch Pakete, die man notfalls von einer anderen Kiste oder unter einem anderen OS runterladen und dann "offline" installieren kann.

- Ja die beiden modprobe-Befehle haben den Treiber einmal entladen und neu geladen, was deshalb notwendig ist, weil nur beim Laden des Moduls die Firmware auch in die Karte kopiert werden kann.
